Hey all, I'm quite new to the soap making scene. The most experience I have is from my high school chemistry class.

I'm most interested in perfecting the craft for my own enjoyment, with intentions of starting a small business. But that's far from my experience as I stand today, as the following questions will indicate.

This site appears to be full of friendly and talented people. But to a newbie, I tend to get lost in some of the jargon.

If someone could tell me what the following acronyms are, I'd be most grateful:

EO
OO
FO
CP

Also, if you know of any other acronyms or basic or essential terms necessary to join the sudsy conversation, I would appreciate any and all wisdom.

Thanks!

HP - hot process
MP - melt & pour
VOO - virgin olive oil
ITPS - in the pot swirl
CPOP - cold process oven process
OHP - oven hot process
DOS - dreaded orange spots
FD&C - food, drug & cosmetics
INCI - international nomenclature of cosmetic ingredients
RTCP - room temperature cold process
