I made a test batch of soap with mango butter... 35% OO, 25% CO (which is high for me), 30 % PO, 10% mango butter. I forced gel with a 170 degree oven (turned off). The final bar is very moisturizing but a little tacky feeling & doesn't later well. I usually use 5% castor in all my bars, but left it out this time. SF at 8%

I have very sensitive skin that is on the dry side. Any suggestions on how I can use mango butter more appropriately for a better bar? I know I can use a soap calc. but I would rather have your suggestions based upon experience.

Thanks!

Your formula seems ok if you are going for something mild. you might try soaping with milk instead of water if you are up for the challenge.

but tacky? for how long did it cure?
what was your lye solution concentration?

stickiness will decrease during the cure period, and lather will increase.

Thanks Carebear. I do soap with Goats milk, but I'm trying different recipes with mango butter. It's been curing for 4 weeks.
