I have a couple of soaps that didn't turn out the way I wanted them to, and I don't really want to rebatch. So, I was thinking of making a confetti soap.
How much scent do the grated pieces retain in a confetti soap? Should I plan on finding a complimentary scent for the main soap? Or will the shredded pieces not retain much scent?
 
In my experience they don’t retain much scent.
This could be because the soap i confetti is generally pretty old.

The new soap batter with the new scent is all I’ve ever been able to pick up.
 
The scent comes through with fresh soap scraps added in little chunks. I scented the fresh batter at my usual rate which worked well. I think it would be the same for a confetti soap with fresh scraps, but I have only done that with old scraps that had little scent to begin with.
