I wonder if it if would be better if you added some salt? That's technically what a water softener does.
i think that salt weakens the lather.
i'd go with more coconut oil but also i would adjust the superfat to be a bit higher.
why would you drop out castor? i have hard water, but i'm not sure did i notice anything that would suggest that you should avoid castor oil.
