I'm new so forgive the dumb question.
I understand Potassium Hydroxide is used for liquid soaps and Sodium Hydroxide for bars. I received an order of Potassium Hydroxide with the intent to make liquid soap. However to save cost and utilize my supplies, can I use it for cold process bars? I read somewhere you can if you add salt to the water?
Can anyone give me any info?

you really cannot use potassium hydroxide for bar soaps. the only way would be to make the soap paste (that you would normally dilute to make liquid soap) then boil in heavily salted water - but the specifics I do not know.

i think it would end up costing you more in energy than you would spend on shipping.

but if you try it, let us know.
