Hi again,
I have been making a few lip balms using cocoa butter and shea butter and most of the recipes have turned out great. But a few have ended in a gritty balm. I have heard that I should heat the cocoa and shea butters gradually and slowly (over 40 minutes), but I've also heard that I need to heat it for less than 20 minutes to avoid the gritty texture. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The recipe also includes; tallow, olive oil, vitamin E, and essential oils.
Thanks!
