I want to make a basic face cleanser. I've read and read,researched,found all sorts of info.And now Im confused-my brain's emulsified..Information overload!
I don't want to be an expert, just want some cleanser, and moisturiser and lotion for my own use.
The lotion/cream thing I have my head around(basically! lol) I tried ocm,but it takes sooo long to use.Read something about doing an emulsified ocm, with conditioning emulsifier(rinses away easily),but I have NO idea what proportions I should be aiming for.Come across a few formula's for milky/cream cleansers but don't have all the ing. & don't know nearly enough to sub!

I have; ewax nf
cond.emulsifier
cetearyl
stearic
soy wax
dimethicone
glyceryl cocoate
poly gluc
optiphen +
gazzillion oils & butters,
(eta)glycerine,SL,aloe gel,clays...1/2 the inventory of evry Aus supplier!!!

I need a hand,or at least a nudge in the right direction.. :?

I can't help you formulate a cleanser hopefully someone else will come along, but have you tried the oil cleansing method?
There is a website that details it, www.oilcleansingmethod.com I think. I'll check that and put the right one, if that's wrong.[/quote

Thanks Chrissy...yep,tried oil cleansing method,& like it,but I also want something quick&easy.Too much water down the drain doing OCM in the shower! We're off water restrictions, but compulsory 4min showers was great training,& I still try sticking to it :) (Not easy!Try washing the bod,the hair, the face...forget shaving! lol)
Aussiesoaps has a milky cleanser formula, but I'm missing ps20 at the mo...oh well,I'll get there...

may i suggest checking out www.lotioncrafter.com they have wonderful customer service, answer questions promptly on email and they have some nice recipes and LOTS of ingredients.

they have always been very helpful.

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but I take a bar of my cp soap (castille so far) grate it up with some water, put it in a pump container and use that to wash my face. It takes off my makeup and doesn't strip my face. I'm thinking of doing it with some of my new goat milk soap.

Thanks Heartsong.I found lotioncrafter,& some other fantastic sites & blogs(links below).I think I need to let e'thing sink in a bit.Its SO overwhelming! Also finding that we either don't have the ing here,or they're named differently.
Can any Aussies think of other suppliers for b&b ing? I know of aussiesoaps/heirloom/ND/escentials.

Heres some links with great info on emulsifiers/surfactants/allsorts!

Gekko, I know what you mean about the four minute showers. A couple of years ago we had our bathroom renovated, so while that was happening we had to hire a porta shower, like a portaloo, only with a shower inside. It had the tiniest hot water heater, oh it's was painful, we had to have it on the front verandah in the middle of winter.
Not something I wish to ever repeat in a hurry!
