So at the Farmers Market tonight I was approached by a customer who requested soap on a rope. I have not yet made any soap on a rope, but I'm always open to trying something new. However, I do CP, not M&P...I'm assuming that this can be done with CP...but thought I should come here to the experts again...has anyone done this with CP method? What type mold did you use?
Thanks for any advice!

I saw a video where they used a bar mold, but I bet you could use any kind of slab mold, where the bars are individual. She then inserted short lengths of straw in the mold and then when the bars were solidified, the straws slid right out and left holes to tie twine through.

I made soap on a rope in molds like these:

They worked out very well, but I would think you could do exactly the same thing in whatever mold you usually use. I just bought white rope at my usual store, cut it to about 12" lengths, and melted the two ends together. Then I stuck the melted ends into the top of the poured soap, and let it set as usual. I tried to get the melted ends to stop in the center of the soap, per the soap queen video:

Good luck!

What kind of rope

Does it matter what kind of rope you use? Does anyone have any recommendations for types of rope?
