Hi everyone,

I'm looking for websites that have SILICONE molds - not the tray or loaf ones you see on big sites like WSP, Brambleberry, etc - but rather more unique molds.

I found www.flexiblemolds.com. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what OOMO is.. but I was thinking about making my own. Then I imagined somehow getting my hands fully submerged in a silicone mold, with an itchy nose so I can't scratch.

I'm too clumsy, can't trust myself lol

Anyone know a good silicone mold supplier in Europe? Log and slab kind of molds. I think I'd save a lot on postage if I found good ones closer than the US.

I would be interested in it, too.
Shipping from USA or Australia is so expensive, and most stuff get blocked from the customs.

edit: I found 2 seller on ebay, they're from UK, and they seem to have better prices than in Italy.

I'm still looking for the "perfect" silicone mould for my bars, it should be something like this

but a bit deeper than 3 cm.

hamilton beach used to make a mini rose muffin pan which is great for individual soaps.

you might "google" silicone muffin pans, too

www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com has lots of silicone muffin pans.

michael's and hobby lobby carries all the wilton silicone muffin pans.

and if all else fails, take look at making your own molds:

www.smooth-on.com

you can find more suppliers by "googling" silicone or latex mold making supplies. :D

What is this OOMO thing you speak of Ian? You buy it at Lowe's or something? My dad is going to make me some Wooden molds because he's crafty that way but I was telling him about the whole silicone liner thing and he was like hmm...

Oh as soon as I showed him he was like.. ok no problem. lol he said he'll make the wood molds then make the liners! I was like... like a kid in a candy shop! My eyes were huge and glazed and all I could do was smile for about 5 minutes... my dad rocks.. lol He's a trucker, he's used most of these tools for his truck lol :p

Victoria, if he's making box molds for you, it's important that either the silicone be able to lift out of the box or that you can somehow take the sides off or SOMETHING. Otherwise it's beyond challenging to get the soap out.

I know it sounds like it shouldn't be, but it is.

K-so it is late and too much vino...again, but how would you make a log mold liner with that? Or even a slab liner? This mold thing is killing me. I need to some that is not so insulating...

Here are a few mold sellers I found on E-bay... there are some really interesting ones...

I think this is my favorite one I found: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Penguin-Love-Molds

There are a few here that are unusual and would work for soaps, but most look like candle molds. http://myworld.ebay.com/jamez1035/

There are some here I really want for winter, but I am having trouble spending summer money on winter molds!! http://stores.shop.ebay.com/ELEGANT-SIL ... NDLE-MOLDS.

If anyone has other avenues for molds, I would love to hear about them, too.

has anyone ever thought of buying those silicone molds that are little pies and tarts n such nd using them for soap?? I found some and was wondering how well they would turn out

I have used silicone molds meant for baking as soap molds. As long as it's silicone, it's good to go, I think!

On ebay there is EG House or EB House, or something like that, that has amazing silicone molds. They are expensive but sooo nice. One day I will buy some.
