Source: From my notes.
The term "ewax" covers a broad spectrum of emulsifiers covered by the INCI nomenclature "Emulsifying Wax NF". Just about every supplier carries their own proprietary blend, so it's challenging to find out exactly what is in it.
EMULSIFYING WAX NF ~ INCI: Emulsifying Wax NF
Nonionic self-emulsifying blend, used to form oil in water emulsions. Meets the National Formulary Monograph. Physical appearance: White pastilles. Typical usage: 3-10%. Perhaps the most commonly used emulsifying raw material of home crafters of lotions and creams.
NOTE: The Ewax I use ~ INCI: Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Polysorbate 60
CETEARYL ALCOHOL is a mixture of naturally derived (Coconut and Palm Oils) fatty alcohols consisting predominantly of Cetyl and Stearyl Alcohol. Cetearyl Alcohol offers very efficient viscosity building in your creams, lotions, and other personal care products, including anhydrous formulations such as body polishes or oil blends. This fabulous ingredient can be utilized to modify rheology and viscosity in the creation of both O/W and W/O emulsions. In addition to enhanced viscosity, Cetearyl Alcohol also imparts its own emolliency in the formulation. Link:

Polysorbate 60 INCI: Polysorbate 60
Polysorbate 60 is used as a high HLB emulsifier in combination with low HLB emulsifiers to create stable oil-in-water emulsions.
