Something weird!!

I am right now making a batch of hot process! I used my old tried and true recipe and measured carefully. The only thing I did is add ground oat meal to some of my liquid oil and add at trace... It looked fine a few minutes ago and was just beginning to look Vaseline like. Now its all Shiny but it has SO MUCH LIQUID!! looks about equally soap and free oil! I don't know what to do! I't looked perfect until now :'(

Sounds like its separating. Stir it back together, it might take awhile but it should come back together.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will comment but I'm guessing that you had a false trace.

I think separation is common in HP. Isn't it one of the stages the batter goes through?

I don't know for sure but from my experience, it seems to happen when the HP gets too hot. I've had it happen a few times and its usually when I have my crock on high in a attempt to speed things up.
