    Wanted to share....

All I'll say is it's NOT a spoon swirl.

How much to have on hand for weekly market?

I know no one can really predict exactly how much to have on hand. But I would hate to have too little, sell out, and not have any more product for 4 weeks. (Effectively missing 4 markets.) So how much do you keep stocked and ready for your weekly markets? One market will be roughly 80...

ARGH!!!! Need advice on formula change....

Ok....soooooo....I had my formula SET as far as my soaps go. Opened shop, bought in bulk and started producing in much larger quantities, started gaining customers.... But all the time I kept dabbling on the side with small batches. Playing here and there with different oil...

How would you handle this? (Family member)

Ok, since I launched my business my Mom (who lives in a different state) has been riding me for soap and stuff. I have NO PROBLEM making the items she wants...but I'm pretty sure she wants them all for free. I've already decided that family (and a few certain REALLY good friends) will get a...

Ok I'm GETTING a "Tank" but.....

Aside from what the base is made of is there really any difference between the Advanced and the Commercial cutter? Do the different base materials really make that much of a difference??

Two soaps from tonight....(Cut pics added)

Christmas Wreath And Dragons Blood ETA one of the Dragons Blood without the flash...you can see it a little better. I was supposed to do two Christmas themed soaps tonight, but I've been doing Christmas themed soaps for a week for the swap and I just couldn't make myself...

    Did you know...NG Peppermint FO

Did you know that NG Peppermint FO (not EO) will make your soap "heave"? I did not know that. It wasn't bad, not a true volcano....but it definitely puffed up a bit and bulged the sides of the silicon mold. It was only a small batch (28oz) I wonder what it would do with a much larger batch.....

Speaking of no line molds, has anyone used.....

Has anyone used these no line molds?? I realize the bottom still needs a liner, but I'm much better at cutting a rectangle then lining a mold. http://www.lifeworksbylaura.ca/LWS003_No_liner_soap_mold.html Any feedback would be great. I'm thinking of picking up two around the holidays.

    Lemon...yummmmmm.....(Cut pics added)

After the fiasco of the NG Absinthe FO it's nice to have a soap that behaves BEAUTIFULLY.... This is NG Lemon. Will update when cut. Tried something a little different (for me) with the swirl, we'll see if it turns out!

    *sigh* ANOTHER one for rebatch....

I swear I'm having no luck lately. About 1 of every 3 batches are going horribly wrong and I'm forced to rebatch. This one is my own fault....I should have read up on the FO more before jumping into it. The FO was NG's Absinthe. The website said "Mild ricing" Ok...no biggy...I can deal with...

    Bacon......cut pic added

I had a request for Bacon Soap.....from a few different people....so I figured....why the heck not? Here it is....just put it to bed. I'll add cut pics when it's ready. I got the scent from NG....I don't know who the reviewers are that soaped it in the past but they said it didn't...

For those that list ingredients on your soap....

Do you list the INCI names or the common names? I'm trying to decided which to label mine with. I'm making no claims so as to make it cosmetic, so that isn't an issue. What I want to know is what you do and why, and if you've switched from one way to the other? I know as a consumer if I...

Does anyone use "Square" for taking credit card pa

I'm looking for an inexpensive, non-contract payment system for doing credit card sales at craft fairs and markets. Does anyone use "Square"? https://squareup.com/?gclid=CLbpgc_38qsCFVOFQAodlzJjHQ#!home It looks ok....yeah it has a percentage they take from your sales, but I think I'm...

I think I'm bath bomb challenged....

I've tired 5 or 6 different recipes, increased the oil until it was like a dough....waited two days to unmold and I still cant get these stupid things to hold together. I'm....challenged...when it comes to bath bombs......I think I'll remove them from my line expansion plans and just stick with...

Mans Soap Spoon Swirl - Cut pics added

Just got done with this. It's my basic recipe to try to get my mojo back and I think it worked. Behaved wonderfully. Scented with BB's Beau Brummel. I'm looking forward to un-molding and cutting hopefully tomorrow.

    Soap Gremlins BE GONE!!!!!

Ok seriously....the second I decided to start selling I cant make a batch to save my life!!! Things keep separating or doing weird things. I made some OMH the other day, a recipe I've made 1000000000 times (ok not literally) and it completely separated on me. I had a layer of oil in the...

    ROFLOL Uglyiest Rebatch ever!

Ok....so I made a bastille the other day because I just HAD to soap....and was out of CO. I did a TD and Ultramarine Violet swirl and used Baby Powder FO. I have no idea what happened...it was my first time using this FO, but the white was orangeish and the purple was greyish (I know I didn't...

    Horrible fail....

Ok....sooooooo....tried to make exploding soap....first time ever making bath bombs....yeah....horrible fail. My bath bomb stuff started heaving (no other word for it) and I just gave up....packed it all in a mold and threw it in the freezer.... It's not really holding together....but it...

    First baby steps.....

Ok, so I've started doing the leg work to set up for selling. We have a very small farmers market in our subburb (and a huge one in the main city) that I'm going to try setting up at next year. I've made soaps now for 5 years or so, and I think I'm finally confident enough in my ability to go...

Making my first lotion bar, a little guidance?

Ok, so I'm looking to make my first batch of lotion bars with the oils and butters I have on hand. I'm all for figuring it out on my own, but if you could tell me (out of what I have) what would be good to use and what to avoid (and why) I'll take it from there figuring out what and how much...
