I can't live without pink soap any longer

I got a nice magenta bar using the Red Raspberry color from Majestic Mountain Sage. Not quite as hot as some of these pinks, though!

    soap pot weekend: 4/8-4/11

I want to make ginger-honey-milk soap this weekend. Also, I have this batch of sandlewood that I over-watered during rebatch that just doesn't want to solidify. Maybe I'll re-re-re-batch that [sigh]

Crafty men = hawt! Tell me, where did you get your leather and tobacco fragrances?

At what temperature do YOU soap at?

I soap at 120 for both oils and water/lye. I don't think my soap gels, but I'm still new enough at soaping that I can't really tell

Rebatch with whole yogurt instead of whole milk?

I was hoping for a reply too! I did it anyway, and will report on the results! So far, everything has set up nicely and is curing away in the linen closet.

Rebatch with whole yogurt instead of whole milk?

I have a ton of soap shreds, a half a container of fancy whole yogurt sitting in my fridge, and no whole milk. Can I mix the yogurt with water and use it for rebatching or should I get off my butt and go to the store? Any advice would be appreciated!

What kind of olive oil to use for infusions and where to buy

I have used oo for herbal infusions and it works well for herbs that have strong scents. For more delicate fragrances, I prefer to infuse with almond oil.

You might be a soap addict if...

Haha! So true. What if your hubby is a chef and so your spices war with your FO/EO collections?

    Tobacco, Leather and Bay fragrances

I'm having a hard time finding fragrance oils for tobacco, leather, and bay. Maybe I'm just using Google wrong! Does anyone have recommendations, substitutes, or suggestions of where I should look?

Scents and oils safe for babies

I just made a batch of Rosemary Gladstar's Perfect Cream using lavender, calendula, and chamomile-infused oil and tea and 5 drops of lavendar EO as a baby shower gift. The idea of the baby having an allergic reaction to any of the oils or plants is a bit scary, but I figured the best I could is...

    Tolu Balsam-how to dilute

I'd love to hear more about how this turned out! I have Peru Balsam sitting on the shelf and the smell is just heavenly. I combined PB with sandalwood EO in a cream, but a lot of the PB ended up at the bottom of my pot and would not mix. Frustrating!

    Oregon Trails suggestions

I love Oregon Trails's Mysore sandalwood! Personally, I am not a big fan of the Lavender Fields, it's a little too aggressively floral for my nose.

    Who can afford sandalwood EO?

I bought the Mysore Sandlewood FO from Oregon Trail Soapers Supply and I love it. Even my hubby, a consummate sandalwood snob, likes the smell. It isn't perfume-y, synthetic, or syrupy-sweet.

    Biodegradable?

Related to biodegradability I found this post because I have a similar question. It makes sense that CP soap is biodegradable, but does that also mean it is safe for use in natural water sources like the soap you buy for camping is? I'd love to hear opinions on this topic. Thanks!
