Foresthome: it is interesting to know you are starting a whole garden of herbs and plants. How do you actually cope and manage in between your work, soapmaking and the long list of garden plants?
Hi Woodi, based on your own finding, do you think it is the property of cocoa butter that anchors the EO, or is it due to its own scent (cocoa butter) that makes the soap smell good?
i got an enquiry to consign my soaps at 40-50% consignment profit margin, get payment 2 months after sales invoice is billed.
Would you consign? Personally i felt like a dirt cheap soap maker, is the world doing business in this manner?
BJBJ / SudsyKat,
i use activated charcoal. crush it to powder form before adding into lye/oil mixture at light trace. The soaps give white foam.
i used 10 a.charcoal for the swirl and doubled it to blacken it whole.

Is there CP soaper from the forum lives in Aberdeen, UK and allow visitors to view your soapmaking sessions? will be travelling to Aberdeen in September and likes to find out if there is any CP soapmaking classes held in Aberdeen.
Does the different method of making milk soap affect the texture of your soaps?
A. i tried 100% chilled full cream milk, added NaOH to it. lots of curds(slush) and the final texture looked coarse.
B. With 50% water in NaOH and added 50% full cream milk at trace, a whitish layer appeared on...
Thanks Dagmar88! i will certainly take note of your warning. Previously i left the mould on top of the fridge, the last 3 batches were in the soap room, probably due to poor ventilation. However the honey milk soap was not insulated and the mould was beside the fridge ??#$%^
Have been making CP soaps without much problem..but..i saw cracks in the middle of the gelling soap for the past few days?! Does anyone know why? i used SoapCalculator.

Dagmar88 :) Agree with you it is exhilarating to use herbs and plants! i have experimented with pulverised green tea, rosehip, beetroot, blue pine flower and the end result was always an eye opening experience; never get blue though with blue pine :( Anyone tried red cabbage before for blue soap?
Ya you are right. My skepticism is uncalled for; after posting the topic, i thought about flour, butter, chocolate, vegetable oil etc that i use for baking..and i got the whole picture falling into the right place, my concern was phewzz.lifted off my head! Soaping without those additive is no no...
The thought of using all natural coloring and scent from scratch, i meant from infused the oil to squeezing the juices and incorporate them to my soapmaking, - for example, i used screwpine leaves to extract its' green coloring and scent; orange zest plus carrot extract for orangy coloring and...
Psalm23, i used infused oil in most of soaps due to exorbitant price of EO. As Tabitha said, the scent is too mild and it fades almost to 'zero' scent as the soaps complete their curing process. Consider all effort put in to process the infused oil...i am seriously sorting out to buy EO.
