Need a bit of recipe help. Need more lather

It has no effect whatsoever as far as I can tell. I have been using it for a couple of years now - over 13,000 bars of soap.

Need a bit of recipe help. Need more lather

I use 1 tsp PPO of powdered sugar and it works great for bubbles! I like powdered sugar as it incorporates so quickly and completely with my oils.

How do you store your CP during the curing process

I have embraced steaming any loaf that develops soda ash. I used to cut first but find it easier/faster to just steam before cutting. Works great. To cure, I use baker racks with plastic trays for “shelving.” For storage, I shrinkwrap in breathable shrink wrap.

Has Anyone Ever Heard of This?

I don’t generally rely on store clerks to have this sort of information. I look at the container, google the company and look it up myself. if it is private label, I would contact the home office. In all honesty, I don’ buy any soap making supplies from craft stores. They are just not worth the...

What is this? Looks like mold or frost

Simply change the ratio (I thin it is the line below the percentage) to 1.7:1. The percentage will change automatically.

    Transporting soap

I use these. They hold 78 of my bars, and, best of all, they stack and are free.

    Transporting soap

I use the boxes that strawberries are shipped in. They perfectly fit bars of soap, are stackable, and heavy cardboard, and are free.

    what are these spots?

Thank you. I will follow this suggestion.

    what are these spots?

I am going to try that - will make a small batch however since I have “wasted” too many batches already! I disperse my micas in oil before adding to the batch. I am going to try adding the FO before the lye water and see what happens. I think you are right!

    Bathroom tile/tub replacement issues

You must have a local person who can re-do your bath at a reasonable price. They are out there. Maybe ask friends whom they would recommend and then talk with them. They do make vinyl inserts for the walls which work great as long as you make sure you have no underlying “issues” which must be...

    what are these spots?

I am familiar with the brown that vanilla causes and have simply embraced it but know I am doing something “wrong” here. I have made a number of batches previously without this happening. I buy my fragrance oil from New Directions Aromatics so I know it is a good product. I wonder if I need to...

    what are these spots?

I have made several batches of lavender vanilla soap without problems but the last three batches I have made look like this! What are these brown spots (they are not DOS). I have no idea what has gone awry - any help/suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

I need to vent... disclaimer attached

Grateful that you have people with whom you can talk about this and that your boss is understanding as well. Prayers that you will come through this stronger but never lose your ability to trust - that is a hard one to manage. Hang in there; as it says in the Bible, “And it came to pass…” It...

    My Pyrex Adventure

Fortunately, I had installed rubber mat flooring which made clean-up on the floor much easier than it might have been. I used gloves, sponge(s), clay to pick up the really “invisible” pieces, vacuum, broom. Turned off the lights and shown a flashlight on areas to double check. It was quite a...

    My Pyrex Adventure

As I learned! I have always been diligent about not mixing my lye water in Pyrex but I thought I was safe - ah - live and learn! At least no one got hurt.

    My Pyrex Adventure

I was unhurt (thankfully). What a mess - I tried to look at it as both a learning experience and an opportunity to do a deep clean.
