Thank you Thank you everyone. I did a huge batch of 96 soap bars, so it might have gotten too hot even though I mixed the ingredients at 100 F. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your message. I made this soap on December 21st, and it doesn't sting anymore. As a fact, I am already using it, and it is lovely. However, the appearance has these small bubbles, and I don't understand where they are coming from. I used 30% coconut, 17% laurel and 53% olive oil...

Baby Soap Recipe - Cold Process

It sounds like a lovely recipe. I made a baby soap with 91% Olive Oil Infused with Chamomile flowers and 9% Shea Butter. It smells divine - like chamomile and is nice for my 3 months old baby. By the way, people use Johnson and Johnson's products filled with a lab created junk but marketed as...

Baby Soap Recipe - Cold Process

Good day, I wanted to ask if anyone knows a good baby soap recipe. I was thinking to do something like this: olive oil and coconut oil - 24 saturated (coconut) and 76 unsaturated (olive). 28% Lye Concentration and 8 % Superfat. Do you think this recipe is ok? I would also add a little bit of...

    White Spots

No, no color. I only used lye, distilled water, 83% Olive Oil, 17% Laurel oil. I had 6% lye discount and 11% water discount. I mixed the oils and lye at 150F. I guess it could have been a problem.

    White Spots

Thank you so much. I also sell soap so I decided to see if I can master batch to save time. I will zip test it as you mentioned and decrease a T down to 110 I think. Tried to find what it means to zip test. Google seems to be not aware of this technique. Would you please share with me? I really...

    Identify the Issue

Another oil I used was Laurel Berry Fruit Oil. The funny thing that I already made soap with this exact recipe. I just used 5% water discount. The soap turned to be fine; it was just a bit slimey. I am not sure what happened to this batch.

Cold Processed - Combination of NaOh and KOH

Hello friends, I wanted to ask if someone can give me an advice. I am trying to make 100% Olive Oil Soap and was told to try to use 95% of NaOH and 5% of KOH combination; it is supposed to get rid of sliminess in the final product. Anyhow, how am I supposed to add these two chemicals? Should I...

    Slimy Soap

Thank you Thank you everyone for your advice. I will certainly try playing with KOH. I cured my soap for almost 2 months but it still had this slimy feeling. By the way, I discounted water 30%, but it didn't help with sliminess. :(
