Opposite of super-fatting for grease cutting soap?

As others as mentioned, my goal when making my own products is to find effective cleansers without excess chemicals. I have never found a need to make a lye heavy product in order to achieve excellent grease cutting and cleansing, because my non-lye heavy products do an great job. That said...

Post you ugly soap pics here - Troubleshooting thread

No, I tossed it. It was a small test batch and I don't have much storage room. Had I not put the mica on top, I might have kept for rebatch, but that was the deal breaker.

Post you ugly soap pics here - Troubleshooting thread

Ugly doesn't even come close. Blue colorant clearly failed. I dumped it in my bar mold. I then thought to myself "perhaps if I drip some mica on the top I can swirl it and save it". Needless to say, that also failed. I didn't even save this for rebatch.

I ordered from ebay (I know, I know). Brand was Dr. Adorable. From Nuture, I ordered Vibrance samples.

    Struggling with colorants

I guess this is morphing? Tried several small batches today. One I put in a purple mica (that I've used before without any issues). I had to add a TON to get to a semi-purple. Then in another batch, I had a turquoise-y green color. It disappeared. I mixed up and added more........same...

    Soap Paste Consistency Questions

It does seem odd to complain about quick dilution :). I was mostly shocked by how thick it was. I thought I was going to break the spoon getting it out!

    Coconut Oil Laundry Soap

You could use palm. If you don't want to buy a lot, grab a container of Spectrum Shortening, which is 100% palm. I suppose you could use several options, but you wouldn't want anything with a high level of unsapponifables, which could leave oily spots. Or just use 100% coconut and use a...

    Soap Paste Consistency Questions

I have now made about seven batches of LS and there is always such a vast difference in paste consistencies. I've done water method, glycerin method and water method with soap shreds from a coconut/lard CP bar (I've only done this with liquid laundry soap). Right now my preference is...

    Coconut Oil Laundry Soap

This will be my first official post on here! I've made a number of laundry soaps, both CP and liquid. IMO, coconut alone can be a little harsh for delicates (in fact, I've moved away from coconut only for ALL of my laundry soaps). My favorite is either 75/25 or 70/30 coconut and lard with...
