I make lip balm with no preservatives added. I want to put an expiration date but wonder how others do this? Or if anyone does put an expiration date on their labels??

I use 1 oz containers and shrink wrap, no melting. Maybe you are using too much heat. Good luck.

Thanks Lillybella. I use mango butter, shea butter, aloe vera butter, and a tab of coconut butter and avocado oil. Its very nice also. I use 75%-25%. I might try your recipe next. Sound wonderful.

Lillybella, what kind of oil did you use in with your Avocado Butter...avocado oil? Sounds wonderful.

I make lip balm and have never had this problem. I left mine cool naturally on the counter top. No problems. Good Luck.

When I melted, I melted very slowly. I remade what I had left and added just a tad more oil and whipped it till it was almost cool. This time it didn't set up so hard. Its still wonderful and melts quickly on the skin and lasts on my hands thru one hand washing. My next try I will lower the...

I recently made some body butter. I had all the ingredients so I thought, what the heck. I used the 75-25 ratios. Butters were cocoa butter, shea butter and mango butter and 25% oil of my choice. It is wonderful, soaks in quickly, feels great. BUT...it got hard, its not fluffy anymore...
