    First Lotion Bar Attempt

I knew they would be slightly greasy, that's fine. I might order and add the ipm though. Not sure yet. I work with quite a few people who are all natural and would like a better lotion, that is the direction I was headed with this. That's why I wanted to do a solid lotion as opposed to a regular...

    First Lotion Bar Attempt

I wasn't worried about the amount. I have plenty of these butters to spare. I bought in bulk and am looking for a new product to add. Plus I work at a salon and have lots of honest and willing testers to hand them out to. Can't have the ladies feeling left out ;). As for adding a little...

    First Lotion Bar Attempt

Just added 4 oz of cocoa butter as well as 1/2 oz beeswax. I'll see how this effects it. Thanks for the advise. Wasn't sure if I needed to add something else I hadn't already. Sent from my iPhone using Soap Making

    First Lotion Bar Attempt

So I just did my first lotion bar experiment. I don't usually use lotion as my skin is pretty normal. I do have a couple of people who have requested that I make lotions, but I'm just now putting some serious thought into this. I think everything went well. I did my research and formulated a...

    Rosemary in soap

I know about mornings. This is my favorite too. Sometimes I just stand in the shower half asleep, sniffing the bar to wake up. Sent from my iPhone using Soap Making

    Rosemary in soap

I use ground, dried rosemary from my rosemary bush in my Rosemary Mint soap. I don't use any color and the specs look great in it. It's not scratchy at all as long as you grind it up really good. I tend to use a coffee grinder, but when I was starting out I used a mortar and pestle. As for the...

My first shaving soap is a success!

Happy Halloween.... I'm bringing this thread back to life. Okay, so I've read through this thread couple times. I want to try to make a new shaving soap. The one I make now is NaOH only and I'm curious about mixing NaOH and KOH. Sounds like a great science experiment. So here's my question...

    Acne Inversa

Glad the salt bars are working TeriDk and shunt. I just made some and will definitely gift them to friends who suffer from acne prone skin. I've been reading up on this and salt bars do seem to be a relief for minor acne sufferers.

    Acne Inversa

Acne Inversa can be caused by many factors, such as, age, weight, and hormones. Where are the bumps and are they painful? If they are cystic, deep and painful, that usually requires a visit to the dermatologists office to get an oral antibiotic. There are unfortunately usually no natural cures...

    Immediately Rebatched Salt Bars

Okay so it's been more than a week since I rebatched my salt bars. Now they are sweating like they're trying to loose weight. I put my bars on paper to cure them and they have soaked the paper. Any ideas on what's happening and will they be okay?

    Tea Soap

I almost always do a swirled soap but a pencil line sounds fun. Do I let the soap on the bottom layer set up a bit before I add the herbs then the second layer. I'm kinda of new to layering soaps. Tried it twice and my layers mixed both times. Sent from my iPhone using Soap Making
