    Psoriasis - suggestions?

Hey guys, My mom has been suffering with psoriasis for a long time now, and has found little relief from it in way of soaps, lotions, medications, etc. I've searched around and have seen lots of suggestions on what types of soap to make and what additives might help. I'd really like to make...

How would I get started selling soap?

Hey guys. I've been reading through this thread, because I've been thinking of selling soap once I start to really get the hang of it. I'm a college kid and besides the fact that making soap is fun it seems like a cool way to (possibly) make money as well. I think I have more questions about...

    Want to try HP soaping

I actually was about to ask this same exact question. If I eventually wanted to start selling soaps, is one a more practical method than the other? HP seems like it would be easier to keep up with demand for a particular soap, but is the difference in texture enough to make CP soap a better seller?

    colorant

Guess that's what I get for buying without doing some research first. Thanks guys.

    impulse buy

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to pick some stuff out from WSP instead I think.

    colorant

Here's something else that I impulsively bought without doing any previous research. I was in JoAnn Fabrics and these were on clearance for .97 a pack, rather than 3.99, so I grabbed them. Anybody know if these will work in CP? I know most stuff I've seen in craft stores are made for melt and...

    Should I use these?

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll search around for some good fragrances online and go with those instead.

    Should I use these?

I posted this in the fragrance section a few days ago, but this section seems to be busier so I'm trying it here also. I ran into a store near me that sells some EOs and FOs, so of course I had to buy some. The label says to avoid contact with skin. I thought that all EOs and FOs said that...

    impulse buy

Hmm..the bottle says to avoid contact with skin, but I was under the impression that all essential and fragrance oils said that. I thought that as long as the oils are properly diluted (i.e. in a finished soap) that they were safe..is that wrong?

    impulse buy

Hey guys. So I stumbled upon a store near me that sells both EOs and FOs. I decided to pick up a few since I'm really anxious to start experimenting. When I got home I tried looking up the brand to see if it was any good, and can't find too much on it. Has anybody had any experience or even...

What is Bastille soap? Seems there are many "definition

This is just a guess, since I'm new to all this too, but from all the searching I've been doing lately, I've gathered that Bastile soap is a term for soap made with primarily olive oil, with smaller quantities of other oils as well, as opposed to Castile soap, which is made with only olive oil...

    essential oils vs fragrance oils

Hey guys, I'm back for more advice. I really want to start experimenting with different scent combinations, but upon looking up supplies I've run into a few questions. First, what are major differences between essential oils and fragrance oils? And second, for a small batch of soap, maybe...

Can I reuse a pot I've used for soap making?

Thanks so much for the quick responses. And I'm glad to hear I can just use a pot I already own..one less thing I'll have to pick up!

Can I reuse a pot I've used for soap making?

Hi guys, I'm new to soap making...actually as of right now, I haven't made any yet. All of my supplies should be arriving today though, so I'm excited to try it out. My question is this..can I use a stainless steel pot from my kitchen for soap making, wash it out, and then safely use it for...
