Great Scott! I think I've done it!!!

The Blood Moon in this case actually refers to a certain moon of the year. In folklore each full moon has a name. The Blood Moon is actually better known as the Hunter's Moon, and is the full moon that occurs after the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox...

INCI...Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil OR Sodium Olivate?

I believe the second listing, for such-and-such soap, is the name for what happens when that oil reacts with lye. Theoretically, after the chemical reactions, neither lye nor the oil are present in the soap, anymore, but instead have combined into the soap with a byproduct of glycerin. Are...

    Natural Soap Colours

I guess it depends on what you consider natural! It's a difficult line to draw. Oxides and mica occur in nature, of course, as metals and minerals. I've seen several micas which are colored with carmine (aka crimson lake, natural red 4, cochineal), which is from insects, especially purples...

    Silly Question: Wrapping Plastic Wrap!

I'll order that from the WalMart online store! Thank you! (The nearest WalMart is unfortunately an hour trip by bus here. Such a pain!)

    Silly Question: Wrapping Plastic Wrap!

Thank you Tabitha! I'll look for some cheap wrap. Tess mentioned the cheap stuff is thinner and people have more success with it. :)

    Silly Question: Wrapping Plastic Wrap!

Thank you cwarren! Definitely if I start making lots of soap, I'll go that route. I've only made four bars so far. >_> Hehe.

    Silly Question: Wrapping Plastic Wrap!

Okay, I got the making of the soap thing quickly, it went very smoothly and my soaps came out very cute. But then, after unmolding, I got to the hardest part -- wrapping the darn things up in plastic wrap, as directed!! Okay guys, how do you get it so smooth? I see soap wrapped so beautifully...

    Good Clean Fun

Here it is. XD It's stoneware, oxides and stains, naturally molted feathers from my parrot, lichen, moss, polymer clay and acrylic paint. Ha ha. I just made my first batch of soap! *so excited* I'll post pictures when I'm all done.

    Good Clean Fun

Thank you all for your welcome! My first project will be making soaps as favors for my Halloween party. The hardest part is choosing what to make! There are so many great ideas out there. My avatar is a bird I sculpted. *lol* I'll change it to something more appropriate after my first project!!

    Good Clean Fun

Sorry about the pun; it's just soap hard to resist.... I've never made so much as a bar of soap, so when I say I'm a newbie, I mean I'm about as beginner as is possible. I have at least USED soap, and am familiar with its function. I'm also terrified of lye, as Tess is aware. But I have...
