    plants for color

I've used ground parsley (WSP) with success. It kept its green color. I didn't achieve a great green, but the green didn't fade even after 6 months. Can't comment on fresh herbs - just the dried ground ones. Also had luck with kelp once the smell subsided.

neon liquid colors from TKB in CP?

I used the Apple Green and Lemon drop POP colors in my CP soap. Yellow disappeared and the green was lighter.

    Frankinsence, Myrth resins

Use a pestle and motar to finely grind your resins. Emphasis on finely grind. You can then infuse it in oil and don't strain it when you are ready to make the soap. I did this one time with frankincense, myrrh, and dragon's blood. Turned out great and sold out the first day. (Used to...

Refrigerate or wrap in towels? Gel or no Gel ?

I just unmolded a batch I poured in a Wilton 8 x 8. Wrapped it in heavy towels, and but a heating pad under it on low. The bars came out great and look like a translucent cream. I think I'll do the heating pad more when I want a translucent effect.

    silicone molds

I'll have to check out Richards - WSP price goes down if you buy 5 of the same item. So unless you have someone to split the cost with, that is a lot of molds.

    To add lard or notl

I'm beginning to use lard in my soap more and more. I tried it once and was awe struck by how creamy it was. I used to be vegan and wouldn't have dreamed of it at the time. I make both CP with lard and some just plain veggie. I still have veggie and vegan friends so I keep them in mind.

    Books

I have everything soapmaking in my amazon wish list. Beginning to sound like I need to order it. I was concerned about it being info I've picked up elsewhere. Not that I know everything there is to know about CP :D

    The Chamomile Oil Experiment!

I think this is a great subject. I infuse chamomile flowers along with calendula in olive oil and they (aroma) both stay in the soap. I do a large infusion and whatever I don't include in the recipe, I put in a tightly sealed jar and allow it to continue to infuse. I add a couple of...

Recipes without coconut or palm oil?

I get LouAna coconut oil at Wal-Mart in the cooking oil section.

    Selling rebatched soap

I re-batch soap and sell it on line with no problem. Even sold some on Etsy and Artfire. I usually take soaps I think are great, but I'm pretty much the only one who does, rebatch them, add EO or FO, additional glycerin and aloe and call them Hand Milled. Then they sell great. Go figure.

    amount of lard to use?

I usually use equal amounts of olive oil and lard. But then I also use other oils with them.

    Hello from Florida

Hi everyone! I live in a small town in Florida, called Zephyrhills. It's where they bottle Zephyrhills water. I've been making CP soap since 1998 and just got into MP when them finally came out with an SLS free glycerin soap base. I'm staring at at the ripe old age of 60 and haven't...
