I usually use about 6%. About.com has an article by David Fisher that explains a lot about the different oils, http://candleandsoap.about.com/od/soapm ... ngoils.htm He suggests 5%-8%. But I think experimenting is the 'fun' part of soap making. :wink:

That's what I was thinking, if there was a way to make your own (simplified) eggnog. But what a great experiment, thanks for sharing.

For soap I like Lavender 40/42, but I second the Bulgarian from NDA for lotions and other Bath & Body products

Ok, I've searched and can't find an answer. I made my reg. batch of 20% PO & CO and 60% OO added my Lav. EO, like I have done a hundred times! After 24 hrs. I unmolded and cut, usually its still kinda soft at this point but I'm impatient. It wasn't soft, it was dry, not quite crumbly but...
