Gosh, that looks fine. I see 10x worse soaps on etsy.
I've had soaps do that & it reabsorbs sometimes. I try to soap a fraction hotter to avoid the stearic you get from palm & those hard ois. Also stirring the oils before the lye goes in I find is the biggest factor.
Though in saying...
Hopefully someone will come along that might have more experience with this kind of issue.
If I get a run of problems I take a step back with pushing my boundaries & do a simple soap, just to reassure myself I don't have the mockers put on me or something...LOL.
Could that just be stearic mixed with TD in the 3rd pic. Looks like it to me.
I've has soaps get that mottledly look in the centre before, usually when I soap too cool.
Hi Roxta.
I was looking at the pictures this morning on your blog & I wondered if it might of been a partial gel. Without actually holding the soap in my hand it would be difficult to say completely.
Are you certain it went to a full gel?
Or maybe started to over heat in those areas or...
I made a carrot soap a little while back there & it developed orange spots around where there were tiny bits of carrot. I still question weather or not it is DOS. Assuming it is but wonder if its just the colour leaching from the carrot specs as its only around the specs.
Either way, I'm...
Would vistaprint have anything that might be helpful. They do some signs/posters. Or what about those forsale signs vistaprint do. They r thicker, waterproof & could be cut down.
Thanks for sharing your experiments Soapopera.
Do you find you get any sweating inside the shrinkwrap?
I'm with you on less surface exposure to air = less DOS :D
My worst ever.....
The bitterly cold -3 degree day with gusty winds that picked up my shade shelter & took with it 3/4 of my soaps & dumped them in the dirt.
I cried.....just like a big baby
