    Tops flattening when insulated

I'm looking locally for a small fridge that I can used dedicated to my soaps.I'm making about 2 batches/day to hopefully have gifts for Christmas ready. But my last batch last night got VERY hot. Didn't volcano, but looked like it wanted to. Was a carrot, honey, and milk. I know there is a lot...

    Tops flattening when insulated

I am using a water discount. I don't insulate other thna placing a piece of cardboard on top of the wooden mold. I was thinking that my mold is too thick, but it's no thicker than most HDPE molds, or other wooden molds. It's still pretty warm here, although we have had some cooler weather here...

    Tops flattening when insulated

It could be over heating. I use milk in almost every soap so far. I'm playing with different size batches, because almost every one has cracked. Although these didn't crack, they flattened. I don't a have freezer I can put them in to prevent feel, and I don't mix the lye and oil until it's...

    Tops flattening when insulated

So I've made 2 batches of soap last night. I have made these same batches before, same recipe. But I covered them shortly after molding. When I checked them, my pretty decorative tops looked like they deflated.... Any ideas? Am I covering it too soon?

    timeframe for DOS?

hmm... I don't have an answer for your question, however I would like to know the answer as well. I buy my Olive oil from Costco. not EVOO, but plain olive oil. So would be great to know.

    Coloring an Avocado soap

No offense taken... I do have difficulty "using my words"... One if my symptoms.. I'm VERY well educated, and have been a nurse for 16 years. I know exactly what I'm wanting to say... But it just never comes out, the way it's supposed to... I would have said that I only want naturally derived...

    Coloring an Avocado soap

Natural to ME, means no chemicals. I actually started this hobby as a way to cut chemicals and preservatives out of mine, and my family's lives, in hopes of improving our health. I was first diagnosed with Grave's Disease, and even after being stabilized, continue to have symptoms of MS, even...

    Coloring an Avocado soap

I'm wanting a stable color.. I read spirulina does not last, and even chanes color over time. I have seen beautiful colors from it.. I just want a warm, light green. I also want a very natural ingredient. I'm trying to stay away from mica's, as I don't know exactly what's in them. Not very...

    Coloring an Avocado soap

I'm wanting to try a recipe for avocado and argan soap. I love the green color but am unsure what would be a good natural colorant for such a bar? Anyone tried this?

    Not sure what happened....

Thank you! I actually didn't use CPOP, just CP, and covered the top with my second mold for about 18 hours. It cracked very slightly, (so far ALL my soaps but 2 batches have), and the oil seems to be absorbing back into the soap. I did use titanium dioxide for the lighter color.
