Interesting! But if you only gel the midddle (accidentally) then the middle looks different
than the rest of the soap which I don't find appealing in a goats milk soap... (had this happen
    once already...

I have been given some unrefined unfiltered olive oil. Pesticide free, first cold pressed Olive
Oil. I am not sure if filtering it through muslin or coffee filter paper would be a better way
    to get ri...

I absolutely will consider using lard, I like the way lard soaps end up. I only chose the
shortening cause a whole vat of it was so cheap from BJ's Wholesale. I'm glad I'm not the only
    one who had use...

I tried using the corrugated stuff as a divider and I wasn't too impressed as it bent. I can't

you add it?I use the split method and I gel all my goats milk soap the same way I do all my
    other soaps ...

Thanks Cerelife, I'm a bit horrified at the price of oils :) so I just ordered the cypress oil.
I just got a copy of "pure Soapmaking" and it has a 100% OO soap made with salt water. Can I
    use a loaf ...

Thanks Penelope, can I ask what your recipe is? Does it have a superfat content? For the pure
OO soap I mean. Interesting about the relaive costs of OO here and there. That hadn't occured
    to me.I boug...

I really like your first recipe. Not a lot of people on this forum use OO because there are
cheaper alternatives in the US but in Australia OO is fairly cheap so we use it a lot. I don't
    use lard. You...

Hi jamesPalm/olive/coconut 30/30/30 plus castor 10% makes a rock hard bar. Adding Almond which
I use at 30% is lovely. Blind tests of my friends and family prefer it to Avocado. Peanut has a
