My marketing consists of my Facebook page for our farm, my work, and word of mouth every bottle I made last night has sold today. That was a total of 25 bottles. I know I said I was not going to charge but so many people wanted it and I was shocking by the demand. I only paid her $200 for her...
That is the plan :) use her recipes while I formulate and introduce myself own. I made lotion last night. It turned out fantastic. This first batch, because I made it, I will not be selling but giving out as samples. To show the formula is the same. I don't feel it would be fair to sell it on...
Lol patients is not my strong point that is for sure! But I love your analogy. I plan on making another batch tomorrow, so that will help. I am making a batch of lotion tonight. A lady I met is getting out of goats and she actually had a business making lotions and soaps. My fiancé talked me...
I made it three days prior. And I used a tiny amount the third day. Now a week later I used it in the shower and it only makes my hands dry. The rest of me is fine. So I don't know if my hands are sensitive or what it is.
I forgot the say what I used....
Avocado oil 5%
Caster oil 5%
Coconut oil...
So I tried my soap and I love it. It stays hard and lathers really well. But it seems to dry my hands out some. What can I add to my recipe to prevent my hands from getting so dry.
So my impatient self tried my soap, I had a little left over that I put in a mold. It didn't even cover the bottom. I love it already. I can't wait for it to be done curing. It turned out so white!
So my first batch is curing. I learned at lot! Like don't start measuring your oils out at 10:30 at night. Little batches use little amounts and it's hard to be dead on lol took me a while but I figured it out. I only took one picture so far. And I had way to many molds in my box. And I filled...
So I have been reading on the forum about how the water as precept of oil weight will add extra water to the recipe and affect hardness. But using the water to lye ratio is better for more accurate weights.
So they are not true Vegans then because I know both drink milk. Just do not eat meat. But my goats are week treated lol we are in the process of switching the to a non processed feed and working towards all organic for them. It will also help raise the butterfat and protein in the milk. So I...
Well my milk is already frozen and I am impatient which is why I am willing to try and use the lye with the milk. I know I need to watch for scorching. Also how do I get a weight out of a percent? Is this where I will need the calculator? I found one from Bramble Berry. Is this one Okay to use...
This is how I was planning to do it. Have the Luella melt the milk. I will post pictures and I do learn best by trial and error. So I am going to mess around on the soap calculator and make a smaller batch aND see what happens so :) I am a little nuts about pictures so be warning I will mostly...
Thank you all so much for the replies! I will check out the beginners section and read read read. Went with all veggie oil because both of my sister in laws are strict vegetarians/vegan.. not sure which but they are my testers for alot of things I make. I am not opposed to using lard by any...
