    WSP's Spa Tonic FO?

Spa Tonic I have it, it isn't my favorite. I liked it better than the Aveda knockoff that I bought from WSP. It doesn't smell like a spa to me.

    Fan fail?

Since it was my first batch, I picked up a bottle of the Whole Foods brand of Lavender essential oil from their store. My scale ended up dying not long after I made this batch so maybe it was off when I measured. It is highly possible. I was just scared to make any more and put it in the room...

    Fan fail?

This batch I used Lavender essential oil. I believe I used 1oz ppo. It was my first batch so I didn't keep good notes. It was a basic soap recipe off the internet. I just wanted to see if I could do it. I can still smell the scent on the part of the bar that was down on the wax paper.

    Fan fail?

My first batch of cold process soap came to cure yesterday. I was so excited I grabbed the bar and immediately took it to the bathroom. To my dismay, the soap has absolutely no smell while using it. I have been running a fan in my office to keep the soap from sweating while curing. I had noticed...

    Beginners luck ended last night...

I will have to look and see which ones were ordered. I was talking to my husband about them and he ordered some for me from Amazon. I have determined my chin seed soap to be a failure. I am afraid to use it as laundry soap because of the chia slime. Better luck next time once my new scale is...

    Beginners luck ended last night...

Thanks everyone! The partial gel soap doesn't zap so I think we are good. I have PH strips on order and will have them later this week. As for the other batch, I think I made it worse. I had added chia seeds for exfoliation and when I attempted to rebatch, I forgot the chia seeds make a gel...

If it zaps, can it be salvaged?

    Beginners luck ended last night...

I am not sure if these batches can be saved or not. I am guessing my scale went haywire and it is time for a new one. I was using a postal scale just as I began my journey in soapmaking and now I have some disasters on my hands. First batch might not be too bad. My issue with that one is...

    Big item before tax time

No, I didn't go the CPA route. I decided that I didn't enjoy sifting through income tax issues year round but I loved the bookkeeping aspect of it. I enjoy correcting the mistakes in Quickbooks and helping people to computerize their data before they show up on your doorstep with a bankers box...

    Hello Everyone!

Hi everyone! No offense meant for scrapbookers as well. The only reason I made that analogy is because my mother has spazzed at me for years about my need to scrapbook and make memories of my childrens' photos. I tried, I hated, therefore I just buy materials for her to do it :)

So have you been as crazy as I have been this week?

    Hello Everyone!

Hello! My name is Melissa and I am from Murfreesboro, TN. I have just started making soap and other bath products at home and I LOVE IT! A little background info on me is that I am a wife, mother and small business owner. I own a bookkeeping, payroll and tax business here in my town and have...

    Big item before tax time

Big items... Are you trying to offset an net income for the year? Generally people will purchase large items to offset income tax liabilities. If you buy the printer and do not have more than $25,000.00 in depreciation already for the 2014 tax year, then you can write off the whole amount at...
