    No-Line Molds

Lifeworks Mold Well, Pamela, I think you've talked me into it. I have a couple of super smooth Soaphutch molds, and I love them. I also have two 18-inch Mr. Doright no line molds, and I line them with freezer paper, which comes in rolls that are 18 inches wide. I knew, at first glance, that...

Whipping Melt & Pours for Souffle Type Product?

I have made a fluffy, marshmallow type frosting for loaves of MP soap by adding a clear liquid soap to the melted base and whipping it. I also found a recipe for Gelati Sugar Scrub Scoops online. It contains MP base, foaming bath butter, glycerin, fragrance and color. It is whipped and...

    What is your favorite mold?

I love my Soaphutch HDPE molds, but they might be a bit pricey for someone just starting out. The silicone loaf molds from Bramble Berry or Wholesale Supplies Plus might be a good, economical option.

    Loaf mold

I love the 10 inch silicone loaf mold from Bramble Berry. You can see through it if you are layering, the bars are perfectly rectangular, and the loaf comes out nice and clean.

    Which colorants are best?

Personally, I am a big fan of TKB Trading. They have a huge assortment of stable colorants for CP. I also do some MP, and I have many nonbleeding micas from them.

Can I use Milky Way brand molds for CP or HP?

I have used these mold for a lot of CP soap, and I do not use mineral oil at all. I add 3% sodium lactate and place the mold on a heating pad to force gel. I have never warped or melted a mold yet, and my soap is usually ready to pop out of the molds within twenty-four hours.

    Be Careful

I have a four-cup pyrex measuring cup that has become VERY etched by lye. I do use glass sometimes, depending on batch size. I can see no really good reason for this to have turned into such a debate. It did start, after all, with just a friendly warning to be careful.

    Lavender & Bergamot hanger swirl

I just did a mini test batch for this one - trying to get the essential oil blend just right.

    Soap isn't hard enough?

I don't oil or line my pvc pipe, but I do use about 15% cocoa butter in my recipe, 15% palm oil, and do a 3% sodium lactate addition to contribute to hardness. Good luck getting that soap out. You have been given some good advice that might just help. Your recipe is a very soft one for this...

    mr do right molds

I just received my two 18-inch log mold from this manufacturer. As the owner of a custom Soaphutch mold, I can see and feel the difference immediately, however I did not order these to use them linerless. I ordered 18 inch long molds because that is the width of a roll of freezer paper :D I'm...

    Cold process transparent soap

I have made the transparent soap from the Soapmaker's Companion. It's most definitely not CP, and I don't find it to be great soap either. It warps, sweats, and it leaves a bathtub ring.
