    Neons or brights

I had the same call to do bright/neon soap, maybe it's because I'm from the eighties :) I love Mad Micas neon colors, they turn out great with a little titanium dioxide. Here's a soap I did last summer with palo Santo fragrance oil from candle science.

It's a Dog eat Dog world out there!

The "changing warehouses" sale sounds a lot like raising money before bankruptcy, other retailers do this. They were a business that was inspiring to many of us and offered products with an upscale quality, everything looked really nice. They did, however, have high prices, I didn't use them...

    Tan streaks?

I am newish to soap making. I made a perfect batch of this before and this mornings batch had these strange tan/grey streaks in the soap when I cut it. The bars from a mold (same batter) did not have this. I used the usual olive oil, Shea butter, coco butter, castor oil coconut oil combo but...

    Natural scent

When I tried making my own infused oils they didn't turn out very strong and ended up smelling kind of planty. If you want to go through it, making essential oils is most likely much better for scented products.

    Lots and lots of clay

not sure the ratio but it was probably about 2-1, no extra water though. the more research I do since then, because now I'm hearing you should only use 1 teaspoon per pound instead of 2 tablespoons--also forgot I experimented with coconut milk replacing water and it was pretty thick. I am still...

    Lots and lots of clay

I just made a batch of soap with kaolin and french green clay and it broke apart as I cut it. How do you use 2 tbsn of clay per pound and you are still able to cut? Did you add extra water?

Too much clay but beautiful soap

I think I used a tablespoon per pound, I wasn't thinking about the water! That's a good idea about reusing crumbles. How did you add it to another batter?

Too much clay but beautiful soap

Hi there, I am new to this forum, making soap about 6 months and candles for about 2.5 yrs. This week I made a beautiful olive oil+coconut oil+coco butter soap and added too much clay. A.) does anyone have a rule of thumb how much clay per pound? B.) is there any way I can reuse or repurpose...
