    Foaming shower bombs

The foaming part is fine, although i DO like the idea of milk powder instead of the surfactants (yet another play date!! :D ) the problem I have is they don't harden up at all if I add the potato starch - I'm sure it's reacting with something like the ewax or the cocoa butter??

    Foaming shower bombs

Has anyone experimented with these? I've played around and got good results but then I read that the well known brand ones are made using sodium alginate and potato starch for a really silky foam. Off I goes to buy both of these products and play some more BUT when I add the potato starch the...

Surfactant Based Shaving Soap - Is it possible?

I'd be glad to. So tell me, apart from stable lather and slip, what else are the characteristics of a fabulous shave soap? Give me something to aim for :p

    Glycerin in bath bombs

That seems like a lot of oil/butter and liquid in general. I don't use butters but for an 850g bicarb batch I use 27g liquid in total. When you say 'dye' is it a liquid also? Do you live somewhere humid? I suggest you try a simple recipe to see if it holds together for you: 850g Bicarb 425g...

    Glycerin in bath bombs

Hmmm.... glycerine is a humectant, I haven't tried it but I don't think it would be a good idea in bath bombs? If you want to get rid of the Poly 80, you could try red turkey castor oil. What % fragrance are you using?

Surfactant Based Shaving Soap - Is it possible?

Haha, thank you! Yes a shaving product :D As for the properties, I'm wondering if it isn't possible to attain all the properties of a proper shaving soap? Using stearic acid, glycerine, cetyl alcohol, SCI/SLS/SLSA and, say kokum butter? Is the stable lather something that comes from the...

Surfactant Based Shaving Soap - Is it possible?

Can someone please tell me if a 'soap' made from surfactants/emulsifiers would be considered a GOOD shaving soap? If not, why not? :D

To Superfat Or Not to Superfat...That Is the Question

i might be inserting foot into gob here but i usually superfat at a massive 15% and i've only ever had one soap with dos - i now know it was because i has a high % of sunflower oil as i thought at the time it would make a nice white soap (it did, but a year later it's almost all orange lol!). i...
