Partial gel But I thought it had to gel to turn to soap? When my last batch did not gel at the edges, they are lighter, grainier and zappy. Doesn't that mean that they have not saponified? The middle of the mold did gel, and it is soap. What will happen to the ungelled edges?

beet juice? I am cooking beets tonight, maybe I'll save the water and see what happens. Lye probably changes colors of things, though.
