    Getting scents to stick

So, you're saying I could have gone higher then? I actually measured the out with teaspoons into a small dish to weigh them. The teaspoons were just a mental note to myself for ratios of them. But, I understand what you mean about weighing them out and not measuring them. Anyways.....that's...

    Getting scents to stick

I'm wondering if gelling it caused it to flash out a little. . I used 48 oz. of oils and added a combination of tea tree, eucalyptus and peppermint for a total of .95 oz of EOs. (4 tsp. peppermint, 3 tsp. eucalyptus, 1 tsp. tea tree oil). According to BB calculator, that would have been...

    Curing time

I'm fairly new to soaping and have been experimenting with different recipes and methods. I'm totally addicted!!! I've done about 8 batches CP,HP and oven processed. Is there really a difference in curing time in the different methods? Am I correct in thinking that if a soap goes through a...

how to naturally preserve body butter

There isn't any water in the recipe at all.....raw shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil are the only ingredients (if I'm remembering correctly off the top of my head). I know shea butter has a fairly short shelf life though. I would like to give some as gifts to family and friends. How much...

how to naturally preserve body butter

Hi there, I recently made some amazing shea butter body butter for my own personal use. But, I know that it does not have any kind of preservative in it to prolong shelf life. I did add a small amount of tea tree oil to help with bacterial formation, but I know in order to help it last longer I...

Help me problem solve this issue

Thanks for the replies! I did boil the alcohol out of the beer first, and let it sit for a couple days to get the carbonation out of it. It wasn't the beer that caused the problem....it was the shea butter. I had the same effect on a different bar that I used 25% shea butter in.

Help me problem solve this issue

I'm fairly new to soap making, but I'm totally addicted and obsessed with it already!! I've made about 6 batches of soap in the last month. I have been using the oven processing method because I'm too impatient to wait!! :shifty: The last 2 batches I made, I added raw shea butter to it along...
