    Brut 33 fragrance

If you need a Brut dupe, Save on Scents has it. I've used the "extreme" concentration and it accelerates like crazy but it is doable. The scent held well for me and smelled pretty spot on to my nose.

(Cold Process) Soap smells rancid when used but smelled fine before use

Hmmm...I can sympathize. I've had this happen, and unfortunately, I never found a reason for it. I found a 3 year old bar that I had forgotten about. I remember making this batch because of how much I enjoyed using this soap when it was younger. It was fragranced with Nurture Soaps "Satsuma"...

Must have fragrances from Nurture Soaps?

I don't think you can go wrong with any of Nurture's micas, absolutely every one I have used has been fabulous. All of their fragrances have been great as well. There have been a few I didn't care for, but that's down to personal taste as opposed to quality. Nurture's reviews concerning...

Will Plop and Glop Equal Flop?

Sometimes plop 'n glop soaps are the best. One of my favorites to use in the shower was an ugly as homemade sin plop 'n glop bar that started to gel in the soap pot! I decided to experiment with some stearic acid I had lying around, then I soaped it too hot; and on top of all that I used a...

Orange scented soap (two part question)

I can't help with the EO question, but I know that orange FO decelerates, and sometimes reverses trace/emulsion.

a question for soy wax users

I've been looking at different threads about using soy wax in cp, and I'm ready to take the plunge. My question is which soy wax do you use? I don't want to order the wrong type, but I've become confused with all the different brands and types: i.e. 415, 444, 464, 125 etc. Some of them seem...

    Hot Stuff!

It's a fantastic looking soap! Woodsy, rustic, masculine, autumnal? Yes. Ugly? Never.

Opinions wanted: Essential Depot, American Soap Supplies or any other Florida based suppliers

Unfortunately, my favorite supplier: Florida Suncoast Soap Works is no longer in business. :( They were local, and I could pick up orders to save shipping costs. Now I'm trying to find a supplier that's somewhat local to save on shipping. Any experiences, stories or recommendations that...

Adding FO to oils before lye solution

I always add FO to my oils before the lye, mostly because my favorite recipe (co, pko, palm, shea. cocoa butter, olive, rbo, castor) moves quickly anyway; and I get in a hurry to get it in the mold and forget the fragrance. o_O Secondly, with SOME FINICKY FO'S in my experience it CAN mitigate...

    Are these Glycerin Rivers ?

Welcome to the forum. yes, those are classic "glycerin rivers". I get them all the time. It's worse when I use TD. I blame the heat and humidity here in Florida. ;)

Looking For A Really Great Sweet Orange FO

Love Nurture's Satsuna FO. It holds well for me at 1 oz. per LB, but I find that soap made with it seems to take FOREVER to firm up enough to unmold.

What was an "AHA" moment for you, in learning how to soap

My aha moment was when I realized I could add my FO directly to my oils before the lye. No more dumping it out of the mold because I forgot the FO...again.;)

    Instant Pot

I couldn't agree more about the boiled eggs! They come out perfectly cooked, and peel perfectly EVERY time. I'll never go back to the old way.
