    Hp soap and geling

It has nothing to do with the feel of the soap on my skin. More like a triple pressed soap after it dried.

    Hp soap and geling

I hope I can explain the texture well. It is more pliant and pours easily into the mold. If that makes any sense. I will try the recipe again tomorrow and see if I get the same texture.

    Hp soap and geling

Thanks shunt2011 but it does have a different texture all together. I forgot my hp soap and later, the texture was entirely different. More like silky.

    Hp soap and geling

I am just wondering if there is anything like super-geling your soap? I can only think of one con and that is soap drying out. However, if you cover it well with Saran wrap to avoid water evaporation, should you worry about anything else? Thanks

    Pouring solution in oil

So I was distracted while making soap and instead of pouring my lye solution in my oils, I poured my oils in the lye solution. I was worried my soap will not turn out well but before I finished pouring the oils, the soap was nicely emulsified. I will not repeat it again but I was amazed how...

    Charcoal and clay soap

I do enjoy charcoal and clay in soaps. However, when I combine the two, I get an ugly color. My solution? I infused charcoal and clay in water for four weeks and had a clear solution. This gave me a very lovely white soap. If you decide to do this, be aware that charcoal will not readily...

Shunt2011 I have been making soap for ages but my customers are requesting for lotion. I am trying to read all I can before I start. Any information Will be appreciated. Grace

    Glycerin versus propylene glycol

Why will some formulations use glycerin and others require propylene glycol or a mixture of both? Is one better than the other?

    Bugs in my Shea Butter

I will contact the company immediately. I am aware that Shea butter attracts ants especially. It might probably be during transit. By the way it is not true that unrefined Shea from any source is full of bugs. Grace

    Should i give up?

Oh DeAnne when I say the soap misbehaves, I mean it gets to be extremely hard. Just like using a high percentage of stearic acid. Funny enough, olive oil is the most expensive oil here so that is out. I use mostly coconut, pko, Shea, cocoa butter all easily available. This looks like I may have...

    Should i give up?

I have tried these numbers, unfortunately the soap misbehaves at a higher level of allanblackia (AB). The percentage to make a hard wonderful moisturizing soap is if it is used at less than one percent of oils. The only exception is transparent soap where more than 40% makes a hard bar...

    Should i give up?

We speak English in Ghana. I can check for the French name if available but we have about four local names. This is a big tree in the forest and the pod has to fall on the ground before you can collect. It is not mature if still on the tree. Craig I will send a message to find out how many...

    Should i give up?

Thanks for your reply Lunaskye. The point is that I am in Ghana where the seeds are extremely abundant. I have been working with Adubobuor et al who you linked with. They are more into food sciences so when it comes to cosmetics, they have no clue. I am still giving them most of my observations...
