What soapy thing have you done today?

Gorgeous soup @Tammyfarms! I’ve learned so much from making kaleidoscope soap. I just love it.

"Smoking after bleach" smell in soap

Tea tree oil, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, cedarwood, juniper are all good.

    Soy Candles too hot

You’re not going to get waxy lungs. The main thing that would happen is you would burn the wax.

Where did you get that mold? What’s the name of it?! It’s gorgeous! It is a pretty cool planet.

    Need help!

@AliOop, that’s why I also decided to make my own soap as well. I couldn’t tolerate those soaps and Zest was the absolute worst soap I’ve ever tried.

Why are people leaving soap on the private area for that long? Ivory and Dial have the exact same ingredients.

Tussah Silk and Ice water lye solution

I don’t use ice when making my lye solution. I just put the silk in my water and then add lye. I don’t even strain it unless I’m using the silk that wasn’t cleaned of debris before purchasing.

    Fragrance Oil Testing

Scents in melt and pour can smell differently. I have some scents that are wonderful in melt & pour and not so great in my CP soap.

Tussah Silk and Ice water lye solution

I love tussah silk. It gives my soap a silky feel with lots of slip. I add a cotton ball size per 2lb batch of oils. Some add the same amount to a 5lb batch of oils. I get my silk from Amazon.

What is this? Looks like mold or frost

Just a lot of soda ash to me. It’s harmless.

pH challenge by Dr. Kevin Dunn

That’s not a precise way of testing pH. The whole thread is about why a ph of 7 in soap can’t happen. You can make syndet bars ph of 7. @DeeAnna explained to you why. This whole thread is all about why you can’t get a pH 7 in soap.
